Preparing for the "off"....

It's been a bit of a long and winding road getting my soap and jewellery ready for sale. I've been selling the soap for a while in a local shop and they've been selling steadily. This isn't just pleasing, but it's also given me a much better idea of how much I need to have each month ready to give this particular outlet. It's also of course very satisfying knowing that customers are replenishing their supplies of my soap!

This Saturday, I'm selling at a Festival (unfortunately, I'm also running the Festival so my daughter will kindly be manning my table. She uses the soap herself so she knows plenty about them luckily! I'm sure that if there are any questions she can't answer though, she'll just text me and I can come and help). It will be interesting to see how the soaps do at a Festival; the trick I think is not just in having a great product, but also in ensuring that the table looks really inviting.

Once the Festival is over, then I am starting to go round a number of other shops that I've decided to try as new selling outlets (they all look like they fit the customer base I'm aiming for).

It really is lovely making soap. I love the alchemy of it, which is why I also love making pieces from silver clay - it has that same quality of one thing turning into something completely different. Again, once the Festival is over (oh my, it's been such a lot of work!) then I will be making lots of new silver jewellery so watch this space - and of course the online shop will finally be up and running soon.
